FSSC 24000

FSSC 24000 addresses the requirements of a Social Management System aligned with internationally recognized labor and human rights principles. By implementing this standard, organizations can strengthen their social compliance framework, improve working conditions, and assure the confidence and satisfaction of customers, buyers, and other stakeholders. FSSC 24000 is a globally recognized certification scheme developed to support responsible and ethical business practices across supply chains.

FSSC 24000 is designed to help organizations systematically manage social risks, ensure compliance with labor laws, and demonstrate commitment to human rights, ethical employment practices, and worker welfare. The standard follows a management system approach, enabling organizations to integrate social responsibility into policies, procedures, and daily operations, with a strong focus on continual improvement.

FSSC 24000 is based on internationally accepted principles including ILO Conventions, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines, and applicable national labor laws. It provides a structured framework to identify, control, and improve social performance while meeting customer, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations.

FSSC 24000 is a voluntary certification program and is suitable for large, medium, and small organizations operating in manufacturing, services, construction, energy, agriculture, and global supply chains. The standard supports organizations in building a credible and transparent social compliance system that is increasingly demanded by international brands, retailers, and buyers.

FSSC 24000 certification is issued by independent, accredited certification bodies and managed under the governance of the FSSC Foundation. The certification demonstrates that an organization has implemented effective controls to protect workers’ rights and promote fair, safe, and ethical working conditions throughout its operations and supply chain.

If a supplier organization is certified to FSSC 24000, the certificate and audit results can be shared with multiple customers, reducing the need for repeated buyer-specific social audits. Many international customers recognize FSSC 24000 as a strong evidence of social compliance and responsible sourcing, helping organizations strengthen business relationships and gain access to global markets. The ultimate objective of FSSC 24000 is to improve working conditions and social performance across the supply chain.

Benefits of FSSC 24000 Certification

FSSC 24000 Key Focus Areas

By implementing FSSC 24000, organizations can improve their overall social compliance performance and meet the expectations of customers, regulators, investors, and other stakeholders.

FSSC 24000 Certification Process

After finalization of the agreement with the client, Quality Systems’ experts visit the client’s premises to conduct a comprehensive gap analysis of the existing system against the requirements of FSSC 24000. Identified gaps may relate to documentation, implementation, worker conditions, fire safety, building and electrical safety, wages and benefits, working hours, employee awareness, and compliance with statutory and local labor laws.

Based on the agreed timelines, we initiate implementation activities in line with the finalized gap report. Once documentation, system implementation, and awareness requirements are completed, we proceed for the certification audit. Our technical team provides full assistance, guidance, and support throughout the process to ensure successful certification in the first audit attempt.

FSSC 24000 certification is not awarded once-and-for-all. Certification bodies conduct audits in two stages (Stage 1 and Stage 2). Upon successful completion, the certificate is issued with a defined validity period, subject to periodic surveillance audits to ensure continued compliance and improvement. After completion of the certification cycle, a re-certification audit is required to maintain certification.
